  6. This version doesn't include the required BetterString.mcc, NList.mcc
  7. and Listtree.mcc - if you don't have these, please download comm/news/newscoaster.lha
  8. instead.

  10. NewsCoaster now requires the very latest TextEditor.mcc (version 15.7) in order for
  11. rot13 decoding to work - otherwise you will not be able to select text properly. This
  12. file is included in the nc_update.lha
  13.  
  14. NewsCoaster is a newsreader, which requires MUI. NewsCoaster is shareware, and
  15. the unregistered version if limited to viewing a maximum of two newsgroups. Please see
  16. the documentation for details on registering.

  23. - For those upgrading from version 1.25 or earlier:
  24. If you open a View window, then switch the displayed folder to
  25. another folder, you will see that doing 'Prev'/'Next' on the View window moves to the
  26. previous or next message in that original newsgroup - this is fine. But if one of
  27. those messages is an 'Online' message downloaded with a version previous to v1.26, but
  28. the body hasn't been downloaded, then NewsCoaster will not fetch the body. This is
  29. fixed for messages downloaded from now on.

  64. - Faster downloading (possibly up to 35% or more, though this is on a fast connection -

  68. - Multiple view windows! (must be enabled from Prefs if upgrading from older version)
  69.   (they also behave more sensibly, eg if you switch to a different folder, you can
  70.   read from the old folder by doing Prev/Next on the view window)
  71. - Doubleclick on a message in the search window immediately opens the message without
  72.   need to change the current folder

  87. - Messages can now be viewed as 'threads' in a tree - note this is experimental and
  88.   doesn't work too well atm.. ('View' menu under 'Messages')
  89. - Doubleclicking works on the 'tree' view for the grouplist. Drag 'n' drop sorting also
  90.   works (but not too well atm)
  91. - Messages marked as 'important' aren't deleted by the 'auto delete after x days'

  93. - Included an updated version of TextEditor.mcc in the archive (though this updated
  94.   isn't required, v15.5 works fine still)
  95. - 'Cancel' buttons have shortcut changed from 'c' to 'a', since Amiga-c is copy in

  115. - Option to trace back through the thread (will not function on messages downloaded
  116.   with a version previous to v1.24)

  129. - Reports that some other newsreaders interpret 2 digit dates as being in the 1900s -

  131.   dates of less that 78 to be in the 2000s).

  160. - Option to archive newsgroup messages into a single text file
  161. - More resistance to crashes (before if there was a crash between having downloaded,
  162.   and before quitting, vital information would not get saved meaning next time you
  163.   downloaded, the old messages would be overwritten! There were other similar problems.
  164.   Now this information is saved immediately after downloading, and other vital places.
  165.   Additionally, even if something still messes up, messages should now never overwrite
  166.   existing files.
  167. - Slight improvement in speed when downloading bodies of articles in online mode
  168. - Repeated clicking on column headings switches order of sorting

  242. lots of money 1206' Such numbers usually indicate an advert or other off-topic

  244. greater).
  245.  - Recognises '|' as a quoting character (before was just '>', ':' and '!').
